Visiting from Australia

Created by Jane 2 months ago

We first met Carolyn in 1965 when Mum took us to England to visit Dad’s Family. Dad was Ann’s brother (Ann being Carolyn’s Mum). We stayed for nearly a year and had many wonderful times with our Grandmother, Ann and Roy and their….at this time, three girls.

I have seen Carolyn a number of times since that time and in 2002 my two children, Eliza and Callum, and I stayed with her and her family for a while. It was wonderful meeting up again. She was very welcoming to us.

In 2007, when Eliza was studying at the University of London, Carolyn was very welcoming to Eliza and made sure she was well fed when visiting at weekends!

The photo attached must have been Helen’s Christening as we look very dressed up. Mum was one of Helen’s Godmothers. I’m on the left, with my brother Paul behind me. Carolyn is in the middle and Louise is standing in front of my sister Jillian (she died in 1984). Helen is being carried by a lady whose name I can’t remember.

Carolyn was a very lovely brave person who will always be remembered with love.
